Ta’ Qali Petting Farm & Luna Park – Still Ignoring Animal Welfare?

Last year we raised serious concerns about the petting farm and Luna Park at Ta’ Qali. Promises were made. Yet here we are again—same place, same neglect, same silence from the authorities.

The Commissioner for Animal Welfare publicly expressed her disappointment, stating she was assured by other departments that this would not happen again. But those assurances were clearly hollow.

Where are the Animal Welfare Directorate and the Veterinary Regulation Directorate? Why are they silent, again? Why is the only voice speaking up the one office without enforcement powers?

This isn’t just about animals—it’s about accountability. If those tasked with upholding the law remain inactive, what message are we sending?

 It’s time for action. It’s time for these Directorates to stand up and use the powers granted to them by law. Support the Commissioner. Enforce the law. Protect the animals.
